"Eden is a wonderful 'jewel' on the Nile: its name sums up everything! This little haven located on the east bank, a little way out of town, was a super boost to our 'batteries' after a number of days 'on the road' visiting temples, tombs and pyramids. Our welcome was SO friendly we felt that our hosts were family members greeting us and making our stay as comfortable as possible. The bedrooms(airy and calm)and ensuite facilities were excellent; everything fresh and clean. The terraces had space to relax and enjoy the tranquility; mango trees planted some years ago gave shade and the small pool was just right for the girls to unwind and 'chill'. Supper and breakfast on the terrace above the Nile waters were idyllic; so wonderfully prepared and served under evening lighting. Our group of eight; grandparents, parents and teenage girls, took the four terrace rooms and we felt that we had discovered our own 'Garden of Eden' THANK YOU!!"

"I had a wonderful time at Kayan Guest House, which provided everything I needed for a budget-friendly stay. Staying on Elephantine Island was pleasant, and I liked coming back to the quiet village after a day outdoors. The best part was the breakfast included, which gave me plenty of energy for the day ahead. Don't forget to tip the lady who prepares the breakfast. Unfortunately, I fell victim to a scam on the island, where I paid 2000 EGP for a trip to Abu Simbel, unaware that the guesthouse offered the same tour for half the price. Scams and people taking advantage of you occur in Aswan, just like in Luxor. However, I managed to visit all the museums and sites I had planned. This hostel felt like a safe haven for me."

"Excellent location with view over the Nile. Airkela had booked a car for me from the airport and picked me up at the ferry to go to Elephantine Island. All arrangements were well communicated and went smoothly. The guesthouse was spotless clean throughout. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Close walking distance to restaurants (I really liked the Kana Kato). Above all, very friendly manager and staff."
