"Located up a rural road, 5-10 minutes walk away from the main road and bus stop. You can catch the bus into Puerto Ayora for $1, or stop a white Toyota pick up (TAXI) for the same price. The last bus is at 8:30pm, at which the 5-10min walk back is in the dark. There are street lights, but being solo, I got a taxi back. Hosts and family are gorgeous people, very accommodating and welcoming! Louis is a taxi driver also, super helpful if catching the ferry to another island so early in the morning! Actual accommodation was cosy and extremely peaceful! Shower was warm enough not to get cold under it."

"It was in a very quiet peaceful location. There were bikes to rent (a bit expensive though). There were nice touches, such as a delicious juice on arrival."

"I didn’t like feeling pressured to book expensive tours then and there, the afternoon I arrived, before having time to think or even put my bag in my room. I also think it’s a bit expensive to charge 3$ for use of the kitchen area."

"- walls are not really thick so you'll hear other people/ chicken/ dogs - location far from downtown (super quiet and nice to walk through forests. It's a 2 hour walk down but got picked up after one by a local guy. Busses run every half hour for 1$, so easy. But if you wanna go out late at night there's just taxis left to bring u up) - there's no market nearby so you either eat in the hostel (6$ breakfast) or get to town as there's no communal kitchen"

"The best thing to stay with Luis in the "Good living" (that's what Sumak Kawsay means translated from Quechua) ist to stay with Luis and his family. We had such a warm welcoming and felt far away from all the tourism on the islands. If you are looking for a place to stay which is very special, go there. You will have to take the bus or taxi to get to Puerto Ayora where all the other tourists are and where you can eat/ take the ferries/ go to the beaches - but the location is not at all negative, for us it was one of the best things about the hotel! You are so close to life on Galapagos and far from just being another tourist. Luis cooked for us and hell it was so amazing. The best food we got on our whole trip and the peanut-banana-fish-soup was definetly one of the best soups of our life. Enjoy staying with them, we will always remember our 4 nights!"
